Poem: Woman of the Earth

Woman of the Earth,
She had to break through,
The industrialized society,
Sometimes shake in fear,
Because of the oppression,
Of industrialization,
Christianization,
Assimilation,
Standing in the maze,
In the jungle of steel,
Concrete,
Confinement,
Pollution,
Pollution of the mind,
Pollution of the spirit,
Normalcy,
Conditioning,
Don't look at strangers,
You are culture-less,
We have defined you,
Dear woman of the Earth,
In a narrow scope,
The confines of industrialization are often invisible,
Invisible barbed wire,
Meant to trip you up,
As the industrialized society has failed,
Woman of the Earth has been able to rise,
A voice for the land,
Winged ones,
Connection through the heart to the sun,
Moon,
Stars,
There is fear,
Control,
Pain,
Anger,
The industrialized society,
Defeats us all,
Speaking,
Louder,
As the industrialized society crumbles,
Bohemian dark spaces,
Alternative and counter culture,
Rejected from these spaces,
Because they are two products of the industrialized society,
Rising,
Standing,
Speaking,
Claiming the Earth as home,
Woman of the Earth,
Is visible.
