Poem: A Life of Ease

A path of dirt
Grime,
Grit,
A humble path,
Darkness is not easy for most,

Most want comforts,
Ease,
Easy,

Comfort makes me uncomfortable,
Dire straits never looked so uncomfortable,

While saying you have a heart,
Saying you have a heart for "the struggle,"
I've never seen so many comforts in struggle,

Your smile makes me uncomfortable,
Uneasy,
You don't want to listen,
You don't care to listen,

You scoot us aside,
Push us off the stage,
Say you have wisdom,

Wisdom is found in the laboring class,
The hands who are not held,
Those who are not loved,
Those whose eyes are tired,

Wisdom is found in silenced voices,
A life of ease does not want to hear these voices.

Wisdom indeed.

Ankhesen - A life of ease wants nothing but ease. Sure its nice to have a few comforts but when you are avoiding the issues out there in the world and benefiting from privilege, I can't say that there is wisdom in that.
