Video: First Speakers: Ojibwe Rapper 'Prayers in a Song'

Via Colorlines.com. This is so incredibly amazing! I am not a fan of hip-hop so much but its so awesome to hear Anishinaabemowin in hip hop. Okay, so I guess I like some hip hop. I can groove better if it touches my heart and soul. Nice work in the solo by Tall Paul from the Minneapolis based group "Point of Contact." Gosh I like the name, I hope you get it too. I know there is quite a large Ojibwe community in Minneapolis. I went on a job interview there last summer. I was impressed with the visibility of Native people, stores, community centers and a Native women's resource center in Minneapolis. If I would pick any city in this country to live in it would be Minneapolis -- progressive, liberal, vegetarian friendly, visible Native community and in Anishinaaabe Territory/Midwest. Check out the video...

That was seriously keen! Thanks for sharing.

I wanted to email you, but couldn't find an address anywhere so I apologize for doing this in your comment section.

I've started a blog for indigenous writers and am open to submissions if you might be interested. I've only been up since Monday (June 20) so I don't have much of a readership as yet.

But, if you're interested it's called Indigenous Writes http://indigenouswrites.blogspot.com/

Just fyi and I love your writing and blog.
Mvto/Thanks
