Poem: My Black Heart

Flowers,
Buried,
Deep,
Into the Earth,
My heart closes,
Closes,
Closes,
Catastrophe,
Rigorousness,

Take a break,
Take a break,

Breathe,
Yes,
Try and breathe,
Remove the hands from your throat,
From your heart,
Delve deeper into the chaos,

Human trauma,
Human hearts,

I lack trust,
Trust,
Battered,
Wounded soul,

Woman short,
Woman Indigenous,

I smile,
Inside,
My heart is black,
Black,
Black,
And this won't change,

These flowers will stay buried,
I have to protect myself,
Build a fortress,

Its okay,
To try and breathe,
And to feel,
I think,
I try,
Everyday is a challenge,
This black heart,
Not to heal.

Glad you are back!

One suggestion: change the background so it doesn't move, or make the letters high-contrast. It gets pretty much impossible to read as I scroll and the same-color background slides under the same-color letters.

Do you mean, change the background to the individual post so it is not transparent?

Beautiful Poem, shot from the heart!

You are not Black to me! Just bright shining colors of the Rainbow...

Have a Blessed Day ....

AkasaWolfSong - Aw, thanks! It is important to write about what is in the depths of the soul although my true colors are not black. I don't think anyones are really. Interesting you mention rainbow colors because now I need to email you about the dream I had.

Can't wait to hear it love!

I know you are right too...I've always felt that way...especially when you are told over and over again you are the Black Sheep! Egads what people do to the children! And then in our limited humanness we take up that damned cross like it belongs to us!

Sending Beauty and Blessings Your Way Sistah!

It is actually good on a mobile phone, because the background did not move on the mobile phone. Good poem!

Great look to the site, too, other than the low-contrast text and the sliding on certain browsers.

dmarks - Glad it looks good. I am thinking of tweaking this a bit to make it better looking so thanks for the suggestions.

Powerful and Profound ~ I believe we all have a black heart at some given time.

~ Be Blessed ~

JoyceAnn - I do believe that we do. So much of the world and the people in it can be disappointing and hurt us.
