I have been blogging for 1 year now! When I started this blog my intent was to only blog about Aboriginal/First Nations/Indigenous/Native issues worldwide. Throughout this previous year of blogging the focus expanded into sharing many personal stories and tons of my poetry. Also, the topics I covered were also about into feminism, environmentalism, Earth based spirituality, energy work and the healing arts. I began to share and talk more in depth about racism, sexism, my identity, native issues, eating disorders, consumerism and environmentalism, the sacredness of the moon time, healing and more healing.
This blog has allowed me to use my voice as a mixed blood person who strongly identifies with my Ojibway/Anishinaabe heritage. It has also helped me heal by being able to use my voice on a larger scale than just writing in my journal. Although keeping a journal has certainly had a major impact on my life since I am on my 22nd journal. I have kept a journal for 20 years now! I have also turned more of my inner work to outer work in the world. I am a strong believer in inner work and self love. It truly works in this world.
Also, in this part year I became a part of Indigenist Intelligence Review as a Contributing Editor and as an Associate Editor with the the Aboriginal News Group.
I will continue blogging, growing and connecting with others globally. I am thrilled about stepping into the second year of blogging at Ojibway Migisi Bineshii.

Happy Blogiversary!
Looking forward to many more!
My word verification is "pausties", which was so close to pasties that I am hungry now.
Thats really funny! Pasties are so good! :)
Hi there - I have been reading your blog for about a month. I am from a Northern Ontario First Nation, but in our history we lived in northern Minnesota. Migisi was one of our family names then, so I was glad to find your blog. A connection.
Love your voice, and enjoy that you share your thoughts with us.

You've been blogging longer than I have; I had no idea! I need to fish through your archives some more. Of course, everything you post is outstanding! You do such great work bringing awareness to indigenous and feminist issues.
Are pasties the same as pastries, because I love those danish cream cheese pastries. Thanks for making us all hungry, random babble! lol

Dolly - Pasties are this http://www.exploringthenorth.com/pasty/oven.html Not really like a pastry, hehe! Yeah they are good, although sometimes I have a hard time finding a vegetarian one in the UP.
