The Aboriginal News Group is an international grassroots collaboration of First Nations blog-journalists. Otherwise we would have no collective body to represent our issues because of the marginalization that takes place in the mainstream media. It is important to write and speak from a truthful place about issues facing First Nations peoples in our world. This is a major part of how we can empower each other, decolonize the body, mind and spirit, move towards greater wholeness and healing within ourselves, families and communities.
The mission statement is as follows:
"We have a choice: we can have a cynical attitude in the face of the media, to say that nothing can be done... Or we can simply assume incredulity: But there is a third option that is neither conformity, nor skepticism, nor distrust: that is to construct a different way -- we called for the creation of a network of independent media, a network of information.... We need this network not only as a tool for our social movements but for our lives: this is a project of life, humanity -- humanity which has a right to critical and truthful information.."

Black Man F.l.u.f.f - Wow, thank you for sending out a twitter notice. Thats awesome!
That's absolutely awesome!
See, I can even relate to that feeling of, "well, no one is going to listen, so why bother saying anything?" but the truth is even if only one person hears, that one person counts! Aboriginal issues matter, and having a collective network for new stories is really going to spread awareness.
I see you're already linked on there. Congratulations! :D
Dolly - Thanks!
The issues are important. And it is especially important to speak from a place of truth on issues that affect all Aboriginal people worldwide.
Ojibway Migisi Bineshii, you're welcome...and thanks for doing what you do. I think the work that you do is very important...and you do it well. I posted the announcement about ANG on both of the blogs I use and I created a podcast episode about it as well. I hope more people find out about it.
I think it will encourage more solidarity,
Love for the people,
